Auckland Airport Community Trust grants

In October our community trust distributes around $260,000 in grants to organisations working in South Auckland to promote literacy and life skills. Organisations must be located in the Trust’s ‘area of benefit’ – communities most affected by aircraft noise. These areas include parts of Papatoetoe, Whitford, Flat Bush, Manukau Central, Clover Park, Wiri, Ōtara, and Māngere.

The Trust also provides funds to help people facing financial hardship in the Trust’s area of benefit to install noise mitigation packages in their homes.

Auckland Airport established the Trust in 2003 as a condition of the Environment Court’s approval for the company to build a second runway. Since then, the Trust has distributed more than $4 million in grants for community benefit.
