17 October 2014

Auckland Airport has announced the appointment of Norris Carter as the new General Manager aeronautical commercial.

Adrian Littlewood, Auckland Airport’s chief executive, says, “Norris’ appointment follows an extensive domestic and international search. Norris will be responsible for Auckland Airport’s route development strategy and our focus on sustainably growing airline services and capacity.”

“He has over 20 years’ experience in airline, strategy and commercial management roles and a deep understanding of travel, trade and tourism markets, especially in relation to South-East Asia.”

“Norris started his career at IBM in Sydney, then moved into strategy consulting at The Boston Consulting Group where he worked with airline, energy and telecommunications clients in Australia, New Zealand and the USA. Since 2000 he has worked for Qantas. Initially he played a leading role in the growth of its highly profitable frequent flyer business and more recently he led strategy, network planning and revenue management for the airline’s international operations. He also led Qantas’ commercial planning for its proposed South-East Asian premium airline,” says Mr Littlewood.

Norris Carter says, “I’m excited to be joining the team at Auckland Airport. The airport has great ambitions for travel, trade and tourism for New Zealand and I’m excited about the prospect of bringing them to reality.”

Norris will start work at Auckland Airport on 10 November 2014.
