Hawaiian Airlines announce increased capacity with up gauge of aircraft for impending Honolulu to Auckland service Air New Zealand to increase frequency to San Francisco, Vancouver and Los Angeles
Auckland Airport welcomed the announcements today from Air New Zealand and Hawaiian Airlines that both airlines will increase the capacity of their services to the North American market.
The increase in frequency will see Air New Zealand adding approximately 5000 return seats a month to San Francisco, Vancouver and Los Angeles. The change in aircraft by Hawaiian Airlines on the Auckland to Honolulu service, which is scheduled to commence in March 2013, will provide an extra 30 seats per flight for the thrice weekly non-stop service.
Glenn Wedlock, Auckland Airport General Manager Aeronautical Commercial, says it is fantastic that the demand for these services has been so robust that both airlines have made the decision to add more capacity to the North American routes.
“The announcements today by both airlines show just how eagerly services to North America are being embraced by New Zealanders wanting to visit the area, as well as travellers from North America wishing to come and experience New Zealand, highlighting the opportunity for growth in the North American market,” says Mr Wedlock.
