Auckland Airport’s inter-terminal walkway will return at the end of July, meaning walking will once again be an option for travellers transferring between the domestic and international terminals.
The inter-terminal walkway, which sees travellers follow a green line painted on the footpath, was closed in March while construction activity took place in the area.
Auckland Airport General Manager Operations Anna Cassels-Brown says site works are now at a stage where it’s safe to reopen a walking route between the two terminals.
“Our inter-terminal walkway has always been popular with passengers who enjoy the opportunity to stretch their legs and get some fresh air with a short walk in between flights,” Ms Cassels-Brown says.
“We’re pleased to now be welcoming it back following a new route which includes a pedestrian canopy along Fred Ladd Way, an improvement on the old route which cut through a carpark near the domestic terminal,” Ms Cassels-Brown says.
The inter-terminal walkway will officially reopen at 4:30am on Saturday, 30 July 2022.
Passengers will still have the option of riding the green inter-terminal bus as a comfortable alternative to walking.
This free bus operates every 15 minutes from 5am to 11pm daily. The map below indicates the departure points at the forecourt outside Door 8 at the international terminal and Door 2 at the domestic terminal.
