Auckland Airport, in partnership with TripIt from Concur, is set to introduce a new app that will help visitors to the airport have a seamless and stress-free travel experience.
The new Auckland Airport app has seen the airport partner with TripIt, the world’s highest-rated travel-organising app. The app will provide users with a host of new features that will ensure their journey, both to and from the airport and while travelling, is as easy and comfortable as it can be.
Jason Delamore, Auckland Airport’s general manager of marketing and communications, says the partnership is a world first between an airport and TripIt and is an exclusive airport arrangement within the New Zealand market.
“The new Auckland Airport app has numerous additions that will allow travellers a one-stop planning tool to make their airport and travel experience better - regardless of airline or class of travel,” says Mr Delamore.
“The app includes features such as live notifications of when to leave home to catch a flight, taking into account real-time flight information and traffic congestion. It also provides an easy way to make parking and lounge reservations and duty-free purchases online. Travellers can also access the latest information on the exchange rate, weather and local time at their destination.”
“The app’s benefits extend well beyond Auckland Airport. Our partnership with TripIt allows users to keep all their travel plans - from flights and hotel reservations, to rental cars and activities - organised and in one place,” continues Mr Delamore.
“The partnership will see an integration between the Auckland Airport app and TripIt so that users have a seamless experience from walking out the door of their home, to Auckland Airport, through to their destination and back home again. Further features are planned and we look forward to offering even more services via the app in the future,” finishes Mr Delamore.
Jugdeep Bal, Concur’s Senior Director of Business Development for TripIt says, “By focusing on making the process of flying in and out of Auckland as easy as possible, the team at Auckland Airport is building a one-of-a-kind experience for travellers that we’re thrilled to be a part of.”
The Auckland Airport app also includes information on food and beverage offerings at the airport, the ability to book transport to and from the airport, the option for travellers to download an offline map of their destination, as well as the functionality to add multiple journeys to an app itinerary.
The Auckland Airport app will be available soon for both Apple and Android smartphones. Please visit aucklandairportapp.co.nz to register now.
