New chief financial officer appointed
Auckland Airport has announced the appointment of Phil Neutze as the company’s chief financial officer.
The chief financial officer is responsible for managing Auckland Airport’s corporate strategy, financial affairs, procurement, legal, aeronautical pricing, risk management and insurance matters.
Adrian Littlewood, Auckland Airport’s chief executive, says, “Phil joined Auckland Airport in March 2010 as the Head of Business Intelligence and since August 2015 he has been the Company’s acting chief financial officer. Phil’s formal appointment as the chief financial officer follows an extensive search process.”
“Over the past six years Phil has played a critical role in our finance team as well as in the development of our ‘Faster Higher Stronger’ business strategy and our regulatory information disclosure programme. As a consequence he has an intimate understanding of the Company and what drives our business.”
“Phil has been responsible for a number of significant initiatives for Auckland Airport, including the $450 million capital return to shareholders in 2014, and he played a key role in our investment in Queenstown Airport in 2010. In his time with the Company he has delivered around $2 billion of debt raisings from banks, and domestic and United States capital markets. Phil also oversaw the detailed work underpinning our current aeronautical pricing.”
Phil is a certified practicing accountant, holds an MBA with distinction and is a certified member of the Institute of Finance Professionals NZ Inc. In his decade-long investment banking career Phil held senior roles with Ord Minnett, JPMorgan and PwC assisting clients with mergers, acquisitions, divestments, funding and general corporate finance. Prior to his time in investment banking, Phil worked for the New Zealand Treasury advising the Minister of Finance on tax policy development and legislation.
“I am delighted to make this internal appointment which is a testament to Phil’s capability and his knowledge of the business, and to the capability within our team,” says Mr Littlewood.
Phil Neutze says, “I love working for Auckland Airport and helping to grow travel, trade and tourism for New Zealand. The almost six years I have been with the Company gives me a great basis on which to take on this exciting new role.”
