Get Match Ready

28 April 2011

Rugby fever can begin in earnest with less than five months to go until the Rugby World Cup hits New Zealand.

Bringing in thousands of international visitors, the tournament has the potential to generate $267 million of direct economic benefits for the Auckland region. It’s important that businesses at Auckland Airport are prepared to make the most of the potential opportunities.

With this in mind, the Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development unit (ATEED) has developed a new campaign to help businesses get set in time for kick off, called Get Match Ready.

All tourism businesses have free access to information and resources on this online guide. Simply go to the website, register your business, find out what you need to know to make the most of the the Rugby World Cup – and go in the draw to win $10,000 worth of marketing support!

Get Match Ready includes information on consents and licenses, traffic management and commercial rights around the RWC, plus video presentations from leading industry figures, and tips and tools for welcoming visitors.
