Tourism Forum 2019

Thank you to all those who attended the New Zealand Tourism Forum 2019

Date: 13 May 2019

Location: Novotel Rotorua Lakeside Hotel

2019 was the 7th year that the team at Auckland Airport hosted travel and tourism industry leaders from throughout New Zealand to release new market research, updates on aviation and visitor source markets and invite industry leaders to share their knowledge with the wider industry.

This year we were delighted to deliver an evolution on the tourism calendar with the new approach of the introduction of the Auckland Airport New Zealand Tourism Forum.

As part of our role in New Zealand’s tourism industry, we perform an important task sharing market trends and promoting new tourism products and market development activities to ensure New Zealand remains a world leading tourism destination. This year’s Forum focused on the topic on everyone’s mind – Sustainable Tourism.

Tourism is now the country’s biggest foreign currency earner with international tourist numbers predicted to rise to 5 million visitors per annum by 2030. This rapid growth has provided increased opportunities to New Zealand economically, but also presents challenges from a social, infrastructure, environmental and sustainability perspective.
