Twelve Days of Christmas

Spreading a little Christmas cheer to South Auckland communities

We’re playing Santa this December and gifting 12 grants of $10,000 each to charities doing great mahi for South Auckland communities, funded by donations from generous travellers that have visited Auckland Airport during 2023.

Auckland Airport is focused on being a good neighbour to the South Auckland community, and we welcome applications from charities working in South Auckland.

We’ll also help the winning charities spread the word about the great mahi they do. For twelve days leading up to Christmas Eve, Auckland Airport is partnering with the New Zealand Herald to profile each charity and explain how they’ll use their Twelve Days of Christmas grant to support their work. The winners will also feature on a selection of digital billboards around the Auckland Airport precinct.

Thank you to our generous travellers

These grants are made possible thanks to the thousands of generous travellers who placed unwanted currency into our collection globe moneyboxes dotted around our international and domestic terminals this year.

Charities eligible to apply for these grants

We welcome applications from New Zealand-registered charities that benefit communities or the environment across the South Auckland area. National charities that are active in the South Auckland area are welcome to apply also, but preference will be given to charities that have a primary focus on South Auckland.
