Auckland Airport welcomes ex employees guilty plea to fraud charges

26 July 2016

Auckland Airport has welcomed today’s guilty plea by a former non-executive employee, following the Serious Fraud Office laying criminal charges in the Auckland District Court.

The Company dismissed the employee in February this year, following an internal review process which identified several unexplained financial transactions.

Philip Neutze, Auckland Airport’s chief financial officer, says that following the identification of the unexplained financial transactions in February, the Company immediately commenced civil proceedings against the former employee.

“We have also completed a thorough review of our internal processes and controls, and changes have been made to protect the Company, its staff and its investors.”

“Because this matter is still before the courts, we are unable to comment further on the guilty plea or the civil proceedings,” says Mr Neutze.
